Stuffcool 10000mAh Power Bank Review — Type-C PD 18W QC 3.0 with Two-way Fast Charging

Stuffcool launched its ultra-compact 10000mAh Power Bank in India earlier this month. Unlike most of the power banks available in the market, the power bank is light-weight and compact so that it can fit your pant pocket, and comes with USB Type-C PD 18W QC 3.0 with Two-way Fast Charging support.

Design and build

Starting with the design, the power bank has small rectangular design with curved corners and plastic body. The plastic body is prone to scratches easily, so it is recommended to keep the power bank away from keys and sharp items when you store it in your bag. There is stuffcool branding on the front, and text to show that it is both USB Type-C PD 18w and Quick Charge 3.0 compatible. It also has texts to denote Type-C PD 18W input/output and Type-A output ports.

The power bank measures 91x64x21.5mm, which is slightly thicker than most 10000mAh power banks, but the compact size makes up for it. It weighs just 169 grams. You can see the model, battery capacity, and the input and output data on the back.

There is a Type-C port on the bottom with USB PD 18W input (5A-3A / 9V-2A) and USB PD 18W output (5A-3A / 9V-2A /12V/1.5A). Next to it is the USB Type-A output (5A-3A / 9V-2A /12V/1.5A) port.

There is a battery indicator button on the right side and the battery indicators are on the left. The indicators blink (one light for 25%, two for 50%, three for 75% and four for 100%) in white color during normal charging and discharge, but the first LED glows in green while using power delivery or quick charge function for both input and output. The sides have shiny finish and attracts fingerprints, but doesn’t get scratched easily. Stuffcool also sells a similar sized 10000mAh power bank but with 10W output and two USB Type-C output and a USB Type-C port and a micro USB input port.

Performance

The 10000mAh power bank can charge even an iPhone, iPad and even Macbook (with Type-C Port very slowly) since it offers USB PD output. It also automatically recognizes the device you plug and offers ample amount of power required. Even though both the Type-C and Type-A ports offer maximum 18W output, only one port offers fast charging at a time.

Power lost during voltage conversion is a common problem in power banks. Stuffcool doesn’t reveal the charging conversion rate for the power bank. We were able to charge the Redmi K20 Pro almost one and half time, so the conversion rate should be somewhere around 75 to 80%. Since it has 3.7V/37Wh battery, the actual output is 7,400mAh. Compared to this, the realme 10000mAh power bank has 3.6V/36.3Wh battery with output of 7,200mAh, while the 10000mAh Mi Power Bank 2i has 3.85V/38.5 battery with output of 7600mAh.

The power bank doesn’t get heated even after hours of usage. The company doesn’t mention the charging time, but it takes about 3 and half hours for full charge using 18W QC 3.0 fast charger. Similar to other power banks, this has protection against over current, over voltage, temperature protection and more.

Conclusion

Priced at Rs. 1799, and sold at an offer price of Rs. 1399 on Amazon.in and Stuffcool’s website, the Stufcool 10000mAh Power Bank is a good choice, if you are looking for a compact power bank with two-way fast charging and also comes with USB PD support for charging iPhone and iPad. Wish it had a slightly better finish since it gets scratched easily, otherwise this is worth the price you pay.
