Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ Unboxing and First Impressions


The hype around one of the most anticipated smartphones reached its peak with the launch of Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+. Focusing on the millennial creative professional, the latest outing from the South Korean giant promises to keep up with the reputation of the Galaxy Note series in regard to zeal and intensity. At present, Galaxy Note 10 series is one of the most powerful phones from Samsung. Having said that, the S-Pen adds even more functionality to this massive device.

Coming to the design, the Galaxy Note 10+ sport a new Infinity-O display. This device sports a metal frame sandwiched in between these glass panels and has a boxy design. On the front, it has a 6.8-inch Quad HD+ (3040 × 1440 pixels) Curved Dynamic AMOLED Infinity-O display with 498ppi. It is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6. It has very thin bezels on the top and bottom. 

The button placement is a bit awkward with volume rockers and power button buttons on the left side. The power button also acts as a Bixby when pressed longer. Up top, we have hybrid dual-SIM tray, microphones, at the bottom we got a primary microphone, USB Type-C port, loudspeaker grille, and the S Pen silo. It measures 77.2 x 162.3 x 7.9mm and weighs around 196g. 

Turning it back we have the quad-camera setup out of which three sensors are placed in a single vertical module while the fourth one sits next to the flash. Unlike its previous Note’s, the Note 10 series ditched 3.5mm audio jack. But, Samsung does still ship AKG headphones in the box, and these now sport a USB Type-C connector. Furthermore, the Galaxy Note 10+ and the S Pen are both rated IP68 for dust and water resistance.

Interestingly, the Note 10+ sports an in-display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner that reads the 3D contours of user’s physical thumbprint for improved anti-spoofing and re-designed

In terms of specifications, the Galaxy Note 10+ is powered by Octa-Core Samsung Exynos 9 Series 9825 7nm processor (Max. 2.7 GHz + 2.4 GHz + 1.9 GHz) with Mali-G76 MP12 GPU. For the multimedia purpose, this device has stereo speakers, and surround sound with Dolby Atmos technology. 

To fulfil photography needs, the Samsung Galaxy Note 10+ features

The front side is taken care of 10MP Dual Pixel front-facing camera with an 80° wide-angle lens, f/2.2 aperture onboard. There is also a new zoom-in-mic feature that will amplify audio in the camera’s frame. It is shipped with Android 9.0 (Pie) out of the box. The South Korean tech giant has been bit vocal about its S-Pen features including Air actions customizable gesture controls, handwriting-to-text conversion to MS Word, PDF and more, Screen off a memo in 5 colors and more. 

Samsung has equipped the Galaxy Note 10+ with a 4,300mAh battery which is an upgrade over the 4,000mAh battery in its predecessor. It supports up to 45W fast wired charging, wireless (WPC and PMA) charging, Wireless PowerShare. The Galaxy Note10+ also supports Super Fast Charging that promises one day of battery life with just 30 minutes of charge with 45W wired charging capability.
