Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12/Anzu Preview

We earlier showed you the leaked pictures of the XPERIA X12/Anzu. Eldar Murtazin of Mobile Review has just posted a first look article on the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X12/Anzu. It is the successor of the XPERIA X10.

He states that so far Sony Ericsson have been relying on the design and hardware specs rather than the OS to sell their phones. But this did not help the sales much in the case of the XPERIA X10, X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.

The XPERIA X12/Anzu is one among the next generation of Android devices from Sony Ericsson. Anzu is said to hit the markets pre-loaded with Android 2.2 Froyo and will be updated to Gingerbread by Summer 2011. We feel this is a bad move since most of the other companies should be announcing their phones pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread.

Here are the confirmed specifications:

  • 4.3″ Capacitive Touchscreen with Multi-Touch and 854*480 Pixels Resolution
  • 800 MHz Qualcomm Scorpion Processor (Slower Processor Compared to the X10 but More Optimised)
  • 12 Megapixel Camera with LED Flash and 720p HD Video Recording
  • HDMI Port

There also seems to be no Sony Ericsson UI on top so the phone is faster.
