OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T Android 8.1 Oreo OxygenOS 5.1 update starts rolling out


OnePlus 5 and 5T got the Android 8.0 (Oreo) update earlier this year and the phones got the Android 8.1 Oreo beta update last month. Now the company has started rolling out OxygenOS 5.1 Android 8.1 (Oreo) stable update for both. This also brings new Gaming mode optimizations,  network boost – network priority for gaming App in the foreground and more new features. Check out the complete changelog below.

System

  • Updated system to Android™ 8.1 Oreo™
  • Updated Android security patch to 2018-04
  • Added full-screen gesture support (Only 5T)

Gaming mode

  • Added new optimizations in gaming mode including power saving and pausing adaptive brightness
  • Added network boost – network priority for gaming App in the foreground

Launcher

  • Added category tags in the search section of the app drawer
  • Auto name folders based on category

The update is 766MB in size and also includes Android security patch for April 1, 2018.
