OPPO F5

This week OPPO introduced the F5 smartphone, Sony launched Xperia R1 and R1 Plus smartphones, Harmon Kardon launched range of audio products, Vodafone launched Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra 4G phone, NVIDIA introduced GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Graphics card, and more that happened this week in our weekly roundup.

OPPO F5

OPPO ths week announced F5, the company’s latest selfie-focused smartphone at an event in Philippines, as it had promised. It has a 6-inch full HD+ 18:9 full-screen display and has a 20-megapixel front-facing camera with A.I. beauty recognition technology that scan 200 facial recognition spots to beautify a selfie shot perfectly and also offers bokeh effect. It also has face unlock feature to quickly unlock the phone.

It has a unibody metal design, comes with dedicated dual SIM and microSD card slots and packs a 3200mAh built-in battery. It comes in Gold, Black and Red (6GB RAM version) colors and starts at at 15990 Philippine Pesos (US$ 307 / Rs. 19,985 approx.).

Sony Xperia R1

Sony Mobile launched Xperia R1 and Xperia R1 Plus,  new mid-range smartphones exclusively for the Indian market. Both these come with a 5.2-inch HD 2.5D curved glass screen, are powered by Snapdragon 430 Octa-Core SoC, run Android 7.1 (Nougat), which is upgradable to Android 8.0 (Oreo), come with a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash, Exmor and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

These have dedicated dual nano SIM slots along with a microSD expansion slot and pack a 2620mAh battery. The Sony Xperia R1 with 2GB RAM and 16GB storage and Sony Xperia R1 Plus with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage come in Black and Silver colors, are priced at Rs. 12,990 and Rs. 14,990, respectively and will be available across India from November 10th.

Micromax Bharat 2

Vodafone partnered with Micromax to take on Jiophone with the launch of Bharat 2 Ultra 4G smartphone at an effective price of Rs. 999.

Under this partnership, existing and new Vodafone customers will have to buy Micromax Bharat-2 Ultra smartphone for Rs.2,899 and will have do a recharge of at least Rs. 150 per month for 36 months. At the end of 18 months, users will receive a cash back of Rs. 900 and after another 18 months, a cash back of Rs. 1,000 respectively, in their Vodafone M-Pesa wallets.

Specifications of the Micromax Bharat 2 Ultra are similar to the Bharat 2 that was launched earlier this year. The phone will be available from November.

NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti

NVIDIA introduced the GeForce GTX 1070 Ti. It is based on new Pascal architecture and is built on TSMC’s 16nm FinFET process, similar to the GTX 1070, but this is more powerful with 2,432 cores. NVIDIA says that it will offer double the performance of the GeForce GTX 970.

The NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1070 Ti Founders edition is priced in India starting at Rs. 39,000 ($449 in the U.S.) and will be available for purchase from several retailers in India starting November 2nd.

JBL Flip 4, Pulse 3

Harmon international, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics this week launched a wide-range of audio products in India. This include JBL Flip 4, JBL Pulse 3, Harmon Kardon Traveler, Harmon Kardon OMNI+ series, JBL Cinema SV450 and Infinity Kappa Perfect 600.

The JBL Flip 4 is priced at Rs. 9,999, the JBL Pulse 3 wireless portable speaker costs Rs. 15,999, the Harman Kardon Traveler is priced at Rs. 9,990 and the JBL Cinema SB450 is priced at Rs. 39,999. The Harman Kardon Allure Speaker with Alexa support costs Rs. 22,499, JBL Boombox Portable Bluetooth Speaker with Wireless Bluetooth Streaming is priced at Rs. 34,990. The JBL Free Wireless In-Ear Headphones costs Rs. 7,990.

Sony a7R III

Sony introduced a7R III (ILCE-7RM3) mirrorless camera, successor of a7R II that was introduced back in 2015. It has a 42.4 MP back-illuminated Exmor R CMOS image sensor with shooting speeds at up to 10 fps with full AF/AE tracking, 4K video recording, wide 15-stop dynamic range, high sensitivity with noise reduction of almost a full stop and more. It has the same compact, lightweight body as the predecessor.

It is priced at US$ 3,200 (Rs. 2,08,370 approx.) and goes on sale in November in the U.S. and Canada.

Amkette EVO TV 3 4K

Amkette launched EVO TV 3 4K, its latest streaming Android Media Player running customized version of Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) and with support for Ultra High Definition 4K videos. It is the successor of the EVO TV2 4K that was launched last year. It has 8GB of internal storage, which is expandable up to 128GB that lets you install more apps and store movies and TV shows. It is priced at Rs. 7999.

Karbonn Titanium Jumbo

Karbonn Mobiles launched Titanium Jumbo, the company’s latest budget smartphone with 4G VoLTE support and a 4000mAh battery that promises up to 400 hours standby and up to 16 hours talk time. It has a 5-inch HD display, is powered by a quad-core processor, runs on Android 7.0 Nougat, has a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash and an 8-megapixel front-facing camera.

It comes in Black and Champagne colors, is priced at Rs. 6,490 and is available across India.

boAt Nirvanaa UNO

boAt launched Nirvanaa UNO & DUO In-ear earphones in India. boAt Nirvanaa Uno In-ear Earphones feature 7mm drivers that promises perfectly balanced clear sound. It has Built Noise Isolation Mic with multifunction button. The boAt NIRVANAA DUO has dual 6mm dynamic drivers for deep detailed bass driven sound.

The boAt Nirvanaa Uno is available on Amazon.in for Rs. 799 (MRP Rs. 1990) and the Nirvanaa Duo is available for Rs. 1,299 (MRP Rs. 2990) on Amazon.in.

FiiO F9SE image

FiiO launched two new hybrid IEMs; the F9 and the F9 SE in India. Just as the name suggests, they use a hybrid design in which each channel is composed of one dynamic and two balanced armature (BA) drivers and comes with comes standard with both 2.5mm balanced and 3.5mmm single-ended cables.

The FiiO F9 and F9 SE come in black and red colors and are priced at Rs.7,990 (MRP Rs. 8990) and Rs. 7,290 (MRP Rs. 7990) respectively. Both models are now available for purchase via the company’s official website and at leading online and offline retail stores.
