Apple admits to LTE connectivity issues on the Watch Series 3

Apple Watch Series 3

Apple recently announced the Watch Series 3 that supports LTE connectivity. However, it looks like there the smartwatch is facing issues with connectivity. According to a report from The Verge, the Apple Watch Series 3 struggled to connect to LTE and often linked to an unknown WiFi network instead.

The Verge reporter Lauren Goode mentions that when she moved away from WiFi signals, the Watch struggle to connect to LTE. It would try to pick up a single bar of some random Wi-Fi signal and hang on that instead of switching to LTE.

Admitting to the issue, Apple said in a statement to The Verge,

We have discovered that when Apple Watch Series 3 joins unauthenticated Wi-Fi networks without connectivity, it may at times prevent the watch from using cellular. We are investigating a fix for a future software release.

The Apple Watch Series 3 is the first watch from Apple that comes with built-in cellular connectivity which allows you to make and receive calls, messages and more. It not clear when Apple plans to release the update to fix the connectivity issue.
