Paytm appoints Kiran Vasireddy as COO of its payments business

Paytm has appointed Kiran Vasireddy chief operating officer (COO) of its payments business. Kiran was working as senior vice-president at Paytm’s parent firm One97 Communications Ltd since March 2014.

As COO, Vasireddy will be overseeing all product and business functions for the payments division in line and assist in the company’s aim to reach 500 million customers by 2020. Paytm currently has over 200 million users. Under his leadership, the company ventured into multiple new avenues for digital payments across categories such as utility bill payments, transportation, education fees and metro recharges, among others. Kiran has also spearheaded Paytm’s expansion into offline payments and our QR code solution across large organized retailers, parking lots, hospitals, tolls, petrol pumps, corporate food courts and neighborhood offline stores.

Kiran Vasireddy said in a blog post,

“We are absolutely committed to make digital payments extremely simple and accessible. This year, we are aiming for ten million merchants on our platform, which puts us on the right path to build one of the largest payment networks in the world.”
