Samsung had launched Galaxy A5 (2017) and Galaxy A7 (2017) smartphones last month in India. We got our hands on the Galaxy A5 (2017) recently and brought the unboxing, now let’s take a detailed looks at the hardware and specifications of the phone in this photo gallery.
The Galaxy A5 (2017) sports a 5.2-inch 1080p Super AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 4 protection. It is powered by a 1.9GHz Octa-Core Exynos 7880 processor and comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB Internal Storage, expandable upto 256GB via micro SD card. The phone runs Android 6.0 (Marshmallow).
The phone sports a metal frame and 3D glass back which offers it a premium look. It has curved edges on top and bottom and has minimum bezels on the sides.
There is a 16MP front camera with f/1.9 aperture at the front along with the earpiece and usual set of proximity and ambient light sensors. Samsung branding is also present at the top.
A physical home button is present at the bottom of the phone which comes equipped with a fingerprint sensor. Two capacitive buttons are situated on either side of the home button.
On the right side you have the power button. The phone measures 146.1 x 71.4 x 7.9mm and weighs 159 grams.
The separate volume rockers are present on the left side. Also present is the dual SIM card slot.
A USB Type C port, 3.5mm audio headphone jack and antenna band cut outs are present on the bottom of the phone.
At the back you have a 16MP rear camera with LED flash, f/1.9 aperture. The phone also has a Samsung branding at the back.
Connectivity options on the phone include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4+5GHz), Bluetooth v4.2, GPS and NFC. It has a 3000mAh battery with adaptive fast charging.
The Galaxy A5 (2017) comes in Black Sky and Gold Sand colors and is priced at Rs. 28,990.
