Nexus 6 owners will have a pretty good start in the new year. The Morotola Nexus 6 is all set to get Android Nougat 7.1.1 update in early January, according to Google. The update will bring Nexus 6 in line with the Nexus 6P, 5X and latest Pixel smartphones.

Google in a statement to Android Police said,

Unfortunately, we found a last minute bug that was specific to the Nexus 6, which has caused the delay of the 7.1.1 OTA rollout. We’ve since fixed the issue and will be rolling out an update in early January.

The Nexus 6 was first launched in November 2014. There is a possibility that the Android 7.1.1. Nougat update could be the last major one for the smartphone, aside from monthly security patches. The Android 7.1.1. Nougat update brings features like app shortcuts, keyboard image insertion, circular app icons support and more.
