Reliance Jio starts testing doorstep SIM card delivery through pilot program

Last month Reliance Jio announced that it had signed record 16 million new subscribers in 26 days of its commercial operations, which must have increased by several folds now. The company already said that it is aiming to reach 100 million subscribers by the year end, before the Jio Welcome offer ends. Even though Jio SIM cards are now widely available in several cities, now it has started a new pilot program to deliver SIM cards to your doorstep, as rumored earlier. This service is being rolled out in a phased manner.

Under the pilot program, individuals will receive an invite to schedule a Jio SIM delivery at home. This invite allows the individual to request for a SIM to be delivered at their home at a time of their choice.

The pilot program is currently in beta and is being rolled out area wise in Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Chennai, Kolkata, Ahmedabad, Pune, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Vizag Chandigarh and Jaipur. It will eventually be expanded to other cities as well.

Jio is also experimenting another program that will let you invite a Jio rep to come to your complex/office and setup a desk where people interested in getting the Jio Welcome Offer can get a SIM through their Aadhar card instantly. This can be done through Jio’s website or by giving a missed mobile call to 1-800-200-200-9 to get the invite link.

This program is  currently live in 8 cities (Mumbai, Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Ahmedabad) and is expected to be expanded to more cities in the future.
