Alcatel showed off the Idol 4 and Idol 4S at MWC 2016 last month in Barcelona. The two smartphone are probably the boldest devices that the company has created in a while and it seems that they don’t plan to stop just there.

Apparently, the company has 2 more devices planned under the Idol 4 moniker. One would be the Windows 10 powered Idol 4 Pro while the other would be an Idol 4 Mini powered by Android Marshmallow.

The Idol 4 Pro shares a lot of similarities with the Idol 4S especially in terms of screen size (5.5″) and physical appearance where both look nearly identical. Apart from the OS (Windows 10 vs Android), the display resolution is different on both the devices. The Idol 4S has a 1440p display while the Idol 4 Pro will have a 1080p display.

The battery capacity too remains the same at 3000 mAh on both the phones. However, the Idol 4 Pro is the superior smartphone in every other way as its name suggests. The Pro is powered by a Snapdragon 820 processor from Qualcomm compared to the Snapodragon 652 powering the 4S. The internal memory and RAM are higher – 64GB with 4GB RAM on the 4 Pro while the 4S has 32GB and 3GB RAM. The camera resolution too has been increased from 16 MP to 21 MP at the back while the front camera remains the same at 8 Megapixels. The Idol 4 Pro also adds a fingerprint sensor at the back along with Windows’ Continuum.

The Idol 4 Mini is not as small as its name suggests since it still packs a 5 inch display which is marginally smaller than the 5.2 inch display on the Idol 4. The resolution too has been lowered to 720p and the device comes in two processor variants. One with an octa-core MT6750 processor and the other with a quad-core MT6738 processor. There will be three variants as far as storage and RAM goes – 1GB with 8GB memory, 2GB with 16GB memory and 3GB with 32GB memory.

It is expected to have a 13 Megapixel camera at the back and a 5 Megapixel camera at the front. It will have a 2400mAH battery and a fingerprint scanner built-into the home button. Details regarding the pricing and release date are not available yet for either phone.
