Microsoft had unveiled the Surface Book in October last year that comes in several variants. We have already unboxed the variant with 6th Generation Intel Core i5 processor, 256GB SSD storage, 8GB of RAM and 1GB NVIDIA GeForce Graphics, and now let’s take a detailed look at the hardware and specifications of the Surface Book in this photo gallery
The Surface Book sports a 13.5-inch (3000 x 2000 pixels) 3:2 PixelSense display and has a integrated keyboard with trackpad. We have got the variant with 6th Gen Intel Core i5 processor, but it also comes in Core i7 variant. Storage options for the Surface Book are 128GB, 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB, while RAM options are 8GB or 16GB.
The device features a premium magnesium design and you can press the eject button on the keyboard to transform the device’s screen into a tablet. It has a 5.0-megapixel front-facing camera with 1080p video recording. You can also use the camera for Windows Hello face-authentication.
The device has a glass trackpad and the keyboard also looks spacious.
A haptic buzz and status light lets you know when the tablet is ready to detach.
The ‘dynamic fulcrum hinge’ from Microsoft is folded when the screen in put down and unravels when it is opened. The hinge holds the screen of the Surface Book into place to let you adjust the display viewing angle. Also seen here are two full-size USB 3.0 ports and full-size SD card reader.
The power button and volume rockers are present on the top.
The 3.5mm audio jack is present on the tablet portion. A charging pin and a mini DisplayPort is situated on the keyboard part of the device. The device with the keyboard measures 232.1 x 312.3 x 13 -22.8 mm while only the tablet measures 220.2 x 312.3 x 7.7 mm. The device weighs 3.48 pounds (1.57kgs).
The Surface Book has a 8.0-megapixel autofocus rear camera with 1080p video recording at the back along with dual microphones.
The Microsoft logo is present at the center of the tablet. The keyboard dock has a 6800mAh battery and the display has a 2387mAh battery.
