In a blog post by Andy Rubin of Google, the company is going to shut down it’s phone store which sells the Nexus One Android Phone. They are instead going to bring the phone to Retail Stores

Although adoption of Google Android platform has been impressive , The web store has not worked for Google and cites that the online phone store only worked as a niche platform for early adopters.Google started selling the Nexus One back in January only on it’s phone store on the web in limited countries.

Now Google will be selling the Nexus One only in Retail Stores going forward and will be shutting down the online phone store. Google will stop selling handsets via the web store and will use it as a  store window to showcase Android phones available globally.  Google hints that it will sell the phone globally in a model similar to current one Europe.
