Altec Lansing debuts all-weather speakers – Dubbed Super LifeJacket

Altec Lansing just took off the wraps on its latest speaker in the rugged collection called Super LifeJacket. The speaker features an IP68 rating for protection against dust and water.

The Super LifeJacket is IP68 rated which means it can fully be submerged under water without causing any damage to it. It offers a Bluetooth range of 100 feet, a battery life of upto 50 hours and a wireless pairing of upto 7 speakers. The speaker also has two power banks built-in just in case you want to charge your smartphone. It comes with universal mounting brackets as well as a built in handle for carrying. It is fully compatible with any device that has a Bluetooth connection and also has a 3.5mm aux port if you preferred a wired connection. It also has a speakerphone function along with spoken caller ID. It will be released in Q2 2016 and will cost you US$ 299.99 (Around Rs 20,000) when it releases. It will also be capable of receiving OTA updates for improved performance and features in the future.

They are also introducing mini and maxi versions of their BoomJacket as well as refreshing the current BoomJacket and LifeJacket Models. All these models are also suitable for rugged use but have IP67 rating. The BoomJacket has a new successor in the form of the BoomJacket II that adds omni-directional audio, higher frequencies, wider range and longer battery life. Altec Lansing are also introducing a Sonic BoomJacket and a Mini BoomJacket which are larger and smaller versions of the BoomJacket. The Mini BoomJacket, BoomJacket II and Sonic BoomJacket will set you back US$ 99.99 (Around Rs 6,500), US$ 199.99 (Around Rs 13,000) and US$ 299.99 (Around Rs 20,000) respectively.

The LifeJacket III brings in a wider range and better battery life for US$ 149.99 (Around Rs 10,000) and the Mini LifeJacket aims at delivering similar features and performance in a smaller package at a price of US$ 99.99 (Around Rs 6,500). They also announced the updated Jacket H2O II and Mini H2O II at US$ 69.99 (Around Rs 4,600) and US$ 39.99 (Around Rs 2,600) respectively.
