Barnes & Noble has unveiled it’s first waterproof version of the Nook e-reader that is called as GlowLight Plus.
In addition to being waterproof, the GlowLight Plus is also dustproof. The e-reader comes with advanced E Ink display and a built-in ambient light. It is sleek and has a textured white border and a bronze-colored aluminum back. The GlowLight Plus gets an upgrade from the first version, featuring a 300ppi display that is also present on the recently launched Amazon Kindle Paperwhite. It has a 6″ high-resolution with built-in glare-, scratch-, and fingerprint-resistant lens that claims to provides a paper-like reading experience.
The e-reader is quite light and measures 163.6mmx119.6mmx8.6mm and weighs 195. It runs for up to six weeks on a single charge. In case of storage, the GlowLight can hold thousands of books (4GB memory: 2.5GB for NOOK Store content and side-loaded content). It supports Wi-Fi (802.11 a/b/g/n) and text file type including ePub and PDF while JPG, GIF, PNG, BMP for Graphic files.
