Twitter for web and Android gets support for Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil

Twitter for Android Tamil

Twitter has added support for four new languages – Gujarati, Kannada, Marathi and Tamil for the web and Android. This joins Hindi and Bengali that were added more than a year back. This makes Twitter more accessible to Indians across the country. To change the language on Twitter for web, you can change to the particular language in the drop down menu on the profile from the settings.

On Android you just have to change the language settings on the smartphone, and Twitter’s language will be automatically changed to the respective language. If your Android smartphone doesn’t support these languages, then Twitter will also not support it. This is not available for iPhone or iPad, since iOS has supports only for Hindi.

These new Indian languages are translated by a community of Twitter users via the Translation Center, said Twitter. You can join the translator community to contribute.
