Commodore is returning with a 5.5 inch Android smartphone


Commodore, a company that was a leader in personal computers in the 80’s is returning only this time it is launching a smartphone, according to a report from Wired. The company is all set to unveil a new Android smartphone in Europe this week.

Dubbed as Commodore PET, sports a 5.5 inch 1,920 x 1,080 IPS display protected by Gorilla Glass 3 and is powered by a 1.7GHz octa-core Mediatek processor. Other features includes a 13-megapixel rear facing camera, 8MP front facing shooter with a dedicated shutter button and a hefty, 3000 mAh battery. The phone with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB of expandable storage space will be priced at around $300 and one with 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB of expandable storage space will cost $365. Both the phones come with free 32 GB microSD cards in the box.

The Commodore PET will be available in Italy, France, Germany, and Poland, with plans to expand to the US and other European countries in the near future.
