More and more details are beginning to trickle out as the next generation OnePlus is about to be revealed. The company recently revealed it’s intention to use a somewhat maligned Snapdragon 810 processor in its next gen flagship. Today, the company announced via a post on it’s social channels that the phone will be using a Type C USB connector.
OnePlus stated that the next gen device will be the ‘first flagship device to use the latest Type C connector’. While this isn’t really true, we are quite excited to see wider industry adoption for the next generation standard. The news follows the announcement of the choice of processor which led to a fair amount of uproar. The OnePlus 2 will use a Snapdragon 810 processor which is notorious for overheating. The choice of USB Type C as the connecting standard however is definitely a step in the right direction as it brings with it a lot of convenience in the form of port reversibility as well as future proofing.
