Chrome is getting a new feature on Android called ‘Touch to Search’. The feature allows users to quickly and contextually search for information within the browser.

How it works is simple. All you have to do is touch and select a particular word on the page you are viewing which then reveals a small popup at the bottom of the screen. When you pull it up, you will get all the relevant search results that have been brought up contextually. This is much easier than having to copy, paste and then manually do a search. Also since the search is contextual, the app itself does a basic filtering for you which makes thing even more easier.

This can been seen in the photo above where the word ‘available’ is highlighted and a popup at the bottom shows a search result for the same word which can be viewed when it is pulled up. The feature can be turned on or off based on your preference from the settings in Chrome. The feature will be enabled as a part of the server side update for Google Chrome and hasn’t made its way to all devices yet.
