While the Sony Xperia Z4 is now official, new reports have surfaced online claiming that the smartphone is only meant for local Japanese market.

According to the Russian blog Hi-tech mail, the Sony Xepria Z4 will not be released with exact same configuration internationally, In fact the company has a different flagship device in the pipeline for the international market, which is said to launch by the end of May.

Not much known about the device as yet, but the Russian blog notes that the smartphone might look the same but its naming convention is likely to be different. If you remember, the earlier leaks about the smartphone included images that noted Xperia Z fourth-generation and not the Xperia Z4.

Talking about the new flagship Xperia Z4, the smartphone has the same 5.2-inch (1080×1920 pixels) Triluminios display similar to the Xperia Z3, but it is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 810 processor coupled with Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. It has a 20.7-megapixel rear camera with 1/2.3″ Sony Exmor RS image sensor, BIONZ image processing engine, 4K video recording and a 5.1-megapixel 1080p front-facing camera with EXMOR R sensor and digital image stabilization.
