Asus is ready to launch the Zenfone 2 in India on April 23, the same day when Xiaomi is launching Mi 4i. The company’s official online partner Flipkart for Asus Zenfone series has already listed the teaser page for the Zenfone 2 now, suggesting that the new series will also be exclusively available by the retailer.
The Flipkart listing teases the high-end 4G variant of the Asus Zenfone 2 (ZE551ML) with a launch time countdown. The company is likely to launch three variants of the Zenfone smartphone in India, which include ZE550ML, the high-end ZE551ML and may be the ZE500CL as well.
The dual-SIM Asus Zenfone 2 ZE551ML has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) IPS display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. It has a 2.3GHz quad-core Intel Atom Z3580 processor with PowerVR G6430 GPU with 4GB RAM and 32GB of internal storage with expansion slot. It runs on Android 5.0 (Lollipop) out-of-the-box. The two cameras on the device are 13-megapixel PixelMaster rear camera with dual-Tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera.
Last month, all the three variants went on sale in Taiwan. Other than India, Asus plans to launch the Zenfone 2 series in China, Hong Kong, France, Russia, Japan, Indonesia, and the United States as well.
