Unlocked Motorola Moto X Pure Edition reportedly launching soon

NEW MOTO X 16GB-2

Motorola is planning to launch Moto X Pure Edition, which will be unlocked and unbranded, according to a report from The Verge. The Pure Edition will be sold by Motorola directly through its web portal and it doesn’t come with any bloatware present in the carrier branded variants.

The report adds that the OS update schedule will be slow, compared to that of the carrier-branded units. Motorola already offers a similar experience for the first generation Moto X , but there is no formal name for the product.

The new Moto X was unveiled earlier this month with a 5.2-inch 1080p AMOLED display, 2.5 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 801 processor , Android 4.4 (KitKat), 13-megapixel camera with dual LED circular flash and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera.

The new Moto X is expected to go on sale later this month in several countries including India. It is not clear when the unlocked and unbranded Motorola Moto X Pure Edition would be available.
