Huawei unveiled the Ascend Mate 2 at CES 2014 in January this year. The successor to Ascend Mate that was launched last year,  is a phablet that is 9.5mm thick and weighs 202 grams. We have already seen the Hands Onunboxing and benchmarks of the device, and here is a quick sneak peek of the phone.

Ascend Mate 2 sports a 6.1-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD IPS display. It is powered by 1.6 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor with Adreno 305 GPU.

At the front the phone has the earpiece and 5MP HD front-facing camera.

It has three capacitive on-screen buttons at the bottom.

At the back the phone has a removable back cover with Huawei logo at the center followed with a loud speaker grill.

It features a 13MP autofocus rear camera with LED flash.

On the right there are volume rocker and power button.

The micro USB charging port and the primary microphone are situated at the bottom.

At the top there is the usual 3.5mm audio jack for headphones and a secondary microphone.

Although, the phone has a removable cover, its 4050 mAh battery is built in.

The phone supports Cat4 LTE connectivity with up to 150 Mbps speeds. It has a 2GB RAM, 16GB of internal memory, expandable memory card slot. The micro SIM card and the microSD card slots are situated next to each other.

Running on Android 4.2.2 (Jelly Bean), the Ascend Mate 2 comes with custom Emotion UI 2.0 seen on other Huawei smartphones that lets you access everything from the homescreen.
