Samsung had sent invites for an event on May 28th which appeared to be health-related, according to the invite’s description. However, the company will not launch any product at this event. Samsung’s VP Stefan Heuser has confirmed to Re/Code that there will be no product announcement. He did not provide any further details about the event.
It was expected that Samsung will launch a wearable device focusing health and fitness. It must be noted that Samsung Electronics is divided in two parts, one that is engaged into TV, smartphones and home appliances while the other produces components like chips, storage, displays and more. The May 28th event is being hosted by the later part of the company.
Meanwhile, Samsung’s rival Apple is rumored to launch its iWatch and is also working on an Healthbook app for iPhone that will enable users to track health related activities.
