WhatsApp for Windows Phone to get new privacy features and background gallery

WhatsApp for Windows Phone Beta Privacy and Wallpaper

WhatsApp for Android got new privacy settings recently, that was welcomed by the users. WhatsApp for Windows Phone would also get this feature, that would let users restrict access to your last seen time, profile photo and status. The Windows Phone app would also get an option to change the background image, by choose an image from the background gallery or manually. This feature already available for both WhatsApp for iPhone and Android.

All these features are already available in a recent update in WhatsApp for Windows Phone beta, reports WPCentral. The new privacy features would let you control

  • Last seen – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody
  • Profile Photo – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody
  • Status – Everyone, My Contacts or Nobody

Background images were released in a beta update earlier this month, but the new beta version has a new background gallery with six wallpapers to choose from. You can also take a photo, choose from albums or search web and also delete the background image.

Since it is a private beta, there is no way to sign up to this. Hope the final version would roll out soon for all the users via Windows Phone Store.
