The Intex Aqua i7 is here and we are unboxing it for you. Launched way back in September, with a price tag of Rs. 21,900, the phone has been prominently featured in a lot of advertisements. The device had not hit the retail market at that time but the company has finally caught up and released it, and yes, we have received our unit too. The unit sits inside quite a large retail box, which we were astonished to find it to be bigger than a standard smartphone retail box of even big phablet devices. How big? You’ll have to watch this unboxing video to find out –

As you can see from the video above, the box is indeed huge, but without a purpose. There is not much in terms of extra goodies that you usually get from these Indian manufacturers. The box contents are –

  • In-ear earphones with mic
  • Micro USB cable
  • Travel Charger
  • Flip Cover that replaces the back
  • User guide and Warranty card

The phone comes with a nice 5 inch 1080p screen that seems to be the norm in many devices these days. We saw the Gionee Elife E6, the Micromax Canvas Turbo and even the recently announced Zen Amaze Ultrafone 701 Full HD sporting really similar specs but one thing that stands out in the Aqua i7 is the massive internal storage, pegged at 32 GB. There is no micro SD card slot so that’s a bummer but 32 GB is more than enough for most people, we believe. The phone actually feels nice in the hands, with a matte finish for the back cover.

The back cover is similar to the Aqua HD in texture as well as feel, and it’s not something of a problem. The phone is diminutive considering the recent upward trends in screen sizes, and the curved back edges help for better ergonomics. The 13 MP camera on the back looks to be the same one as the Intex Aqua HD too, but we think we will reserve judgement until thoroughly testing it out. The box also comes with a flip cover, but it doesn’t have the abilities to shut the screen off or on whenever it closes or opens and despite having a transparent window, the UI doesn’t adapt to show you useful information. But considering the fact that it is provided inside the box, for free, we can’t ask much. Anyway, here is the photo of the flip cover and the other accessories inside the box –

There will be a lot more coverage coming up for the Intex Aqua i7, including, benchmarks, gaming performance tests and more, so keep an eye on our YouTube channel for all the up to date videos and stay tuned to the blog for more information.
