Samsung has announced the Galaxy Tab 3 Kids, a variant of the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 that was announced earlier this year. It has a 7-inch (1024×600) TFT LCD display, powered by a 1.2 GHz dual-core processor and runs on Android 4.1 (Jelly Bean). It has a 3-megapixel fixed focus rear-facing camera and 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. It comes only in Wi-Fi variant with 8GB of internal memory and a micro SD card slot.

It comes pre-loaded kid’s apps and new Kid’s Store that offers educational content for kids including educational, games, entertainment and e-books. It has time management feature that allows parents to set specific time periods for use, after which password protected lock screen appears, requiring a parent or adult to enter the password to unlock the device. It also has an option in the Application Manager  that lets parents to select the apps the kids would have access to.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 Kids comes in Yellow Color and would go on sale in Korea in early September. It would available across China, Europe, U.S., Africa, South America and South East Asia later. No word on pricing yet.
