Micromax just launched the Canvas Infinity, the company’s latest mid-range smartphone with Infinity display priced at Rs. 9999. Here we have the unboxing of the phone.

It has a 5.7-inch HD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) screen with 18:9 aspect ratio and 83% screen-to-body ratio, making it one of the compact large-screen phones, but the pixel density is just 279 PPI that is less compared to phones with a 1080p screen like the LG Q6. It is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform and has 3GB of RAM. It runs on Android 7.1.2 (Nougat) and the company has promised to offer an update to Android 8.0 (Oreo).

It has a 16-megapixel camera on the front with f/2.0 aperture and soft LED flash for capturing selfies even in poor lighting conditions. There is also a notification LED next to the camera. There is an earpiece in the center along with the usual set of sensors.

It doesn’t have capacitive touch buttons and uses on-screen buttons.

On the back there is a 13-megapixel camera with soft LED Flash,f/2.0 aperture, 1.12um pixel size, 81.5-degree FOV, 5P lens and supports 1080p video recording. There is also a fingerprint sensor below the camera that can unlock the phone in 0.2 seconds.

Under the removable metal back cover there are dedicated dual micro SIM slots and a microSD card slot. The phone comes with 32GB internal storage. There is also a 2900mAh removable battery. It comes with 4G VoLTE support for Reliance Jio along with the usual set of connectivity features and also has USB OTG support. Registrations for the September 1st sale on Amazon.in have begun already.
