Xiaomi introduced its flagship Mi 6 smartphone in China last month. We brought you the hands-on impressions of the smartphone recently. We managed to get one from Hong Kong. Check out the unboxing video.
- Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone in Black color
- 2-pin fast charger (5V-3A/9V-2A/12V-1.5A)
- USB Type-C to USB Type-A cable
- USB Type-C to 3.5mm converter
- SIM Ejector tool
- Silicone case in Black color
- User manual
The silicone case is a good addition since the phone has a glass back.
The smartphone packs a 5.15-inch 1080p display, is powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and has 6GB of RAM. Running on MIUI 8 based on Android 7.1.1 (Nougat), it has a 8MP front-facing camera.
It has a fingerprint sensor embedded into the home button. It is an under-glass ultrasonic fingerprint similar to the Mi 5S.
On the back there is a 12MP dual camera setup that has primary camera with 1.25μm pixel size, f/1.8 aperture, 4-axis OIS and a secondary 12MP camera with 1.0 μm pixel size, 52mm portrait lens and f/2.6 aperture. It has a dual-tone LED flash. It has dual nano SIM slots and doesn’t have an expansion slot.
It has a stainless steel frame with 3D curved glass on four sides and comes with stereo speakers, one embedded into the earpiece and the other on the bottom. The phone is 7.45 mm thick and weighs 168 grams. It also has an infrared sensor on the top but it lacks a 3.5mm audio jack since it uses USB Type-C audio. The phone is also splash resistant.
It packs a 3350mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0, 18W fast charging support. It starts at 2499 yuan (US$ 360 / Rs. 23,420 approx.) for the 6GB RAM with 64GB internal storage version and goes up to 2999 yuan (US$ 435 / Rs. 28,100 approx.) for the top-end ceramic 6GB RAM with 128GB storage version. The company recently said that it doesn’t have any immediate plans to launch the Mi 6 in India.
