The Microsoft Menlo is a prototype phone that was showcased by Microsoft’s Research department.Menlo is the research conducted by Microsoft to investigate the new operating system possibilities in mobile phones.

The Menlo prototype device has a 4.1″ Capacitive touchscreen with 800*480 pixels resolution and it runs on Microsoft Embedded CE 6.0 R2 which incorporates a Bosch BMA150 3-axis accelerometer and Bosch BMP085 digital pressure sensor (barometer).

A new application called Greenfield has been incorporated and it is a sensor powered application that allows users to re-trace their footsteps to their cars.

Well looks like Microsoft is working hard to build new OSes or at least incorporate new features into its Windows 7 Phone OS.
