Few months back OnePlus promised to release Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) update for its flagship OnePlus 2 smartphone by Q1 2016. Now the screenshots of the OnePlus 2 running OxygenOS 3.0 based on Android 6.0 (Marshmallow) have surfaced online. The screenshots are from the soak test for the smartphone that has rolled out for some users.
The Oxygen OS 3.0 is also expected to bring some new features along with the usual Android Marshmallow goodies. The OnePlus 2 got Oxygen OS 2.2.1 update that brought RAW support in OnePlus Camera, several fixes and February Android security patch.
The OnePlus 2 Oxygen OS 3.0 soak test build based on Android 6.0.1 (Marshmallow) is dated March 15th and also includes Android security patch for March, according to the screenshots. It is not clear when the OxygenOS 3.0 update will roll out for OnePlus 2 users. Since the first quarter will end in few weeks, OnePlus is expected to announce official roll out details soon.
