Windows 10 Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149 gets Edge browser, animated GIF and more


Microsoft has released latest  Mobile Insider Preview Build 10149 with new updates and improvements. The latest build comes just a week after the last build 10136.

First up, the latest build gets the Edge browser which has shed its Project Spartan codename. The update also moves the address bar to the bottom of the screen and allows users to request either the mobile or the desktop version of a website. As the Edge browser has been given a new app ID and hence testers will lose any favorites, cookies, history and saved Reading List items after upgrading from a previous build.

Moving on the update brings improvements to Cortana and it now features Notebook which allows one to set up Quiet Hours. Cortana will also let you send an email. Next up there is a new Flashlight quick action button that will let you quickly turn on your phone’s flashlight. There is also an update to Photos app, which now supports animated GIF shots. Automatic camera roll upload is now managed directly with the OneDrive app on your phone and finally the new update also offers general performance and reliability improvements.
