Google has finally launched Google Play Gift cards in India. It was first introduced in the US back in 2012 and was launched in Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Ireland, Norway, and Sweden back in December last year. India becomes 29th country to get Google Play Gift cards.

These come in Rs. 500, Rs. 1000 Rs. 1500 denominations and lets you purchase digital content such as books, movies, apps and more in the Google Play store across multiple devices. Inside the voucher, there will be a redemption code that you can redeem on Google Play. Gift cards will be more useful for people those who don’t have credit cards, especially in a country like India where most people use debit cards.

Google Play prepaid vouchers will be available at select stores of Vijay Sales and Spice Hotspot in Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Pune, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kolkata & Jaipur. Hope it will be expanded to other cities in future.
