This phone might look like a Blackberry but it’s not one. This is Bright Telecom’s Dual Mode (GSM+CDMA ) or Dual SIM (GSM+GSM) handset G-Fone G-588

The phone comes with Nimbuzz and Opera Mini pre-installed. It has a Indian Calendar and supports memory expansion upto 8G via microSD.

Poor sound on call.
poor quality of earphones(worst just broke in one day).
poor battery back up. if charge it in the morning. dead in the evening.
not good OS. tried to increase the menu items by repeating the same item. like world clock is given twice one in organizer and another direct menu item world clock. all submenu items as main menu items.

worst OS. tried to increase the menu items by repeating the same item. like indian calendar,tasks Alarm,world clock,,Stop watch VIDEO PLAYER, CAMERA is given in organizer, extra and Multimedia and as direct menu items . all submenu items as main menu items. . only 250 kb inbuilt memory. no themes. waste of money. dont go for it.

Thanks for the mini hands on review. I believe every word of it. I had a bitter experience with the company itself. I don’t believe that such a company can make good products.
250kb of internal memory is just horrible.
Their claim for a 240 hour standby time with a 1050mAh battery is just impossible, that too for a dual SIM phone.
I hope that phone do not have EDGE, so there will be no use of the VOIP software. GPRS speed, even GPRS Class12 speed is not sufficient for any VOIP calls. This phone has no WiFi either.
All the indirect evidences suggest that this phone is useless and the price is also not justified.
The best phone I have seen in this category is Spice Q-66, but unfortunately that is only GSM+GSM dual SIM phone.

best thing in this mobile is, it can serve both GSM and CDMA. get ring while call on call another network. can call to other network from the same phone itself may be because of GSB CDMA.
no option to select recurring birth day reminder in calender. no option to create folder for messages in phone. no seperation of sim1 and sim2 phone book. no call recording. overall we can say it’s missing many basic functionalities which are provided in basic phones. battery back up is very low it is serious issue with this phone whether u talk or not it will give back up only less than one day with no multimedia usage. i never expected these many drawbacks in one phone.

I’m sure all of the above is for real.

Coz when I called their so-called “Customer Service”, the lady on the phone answered after 4 calls and sounded like she was in a hurry and was doing a favour on me.

Abruptly gave me a Sales personnel’s number, who sounded very annoyed and irritated and gave me the address of a NON-EXISTENT shop!!!

If this is how the Sales scene is, you can well imagine what is going to happen to you through After Sales Support.

Way to go.

Morons, i have been at the back of these guys to get this phone for the past one month (i am from chennai).i dont think it is wise for me / any1 to go get this piece of equipement and waste my/our money.in chennai this is being marketed by dharam communications ellis road behind the devi theatre but they say that they are not sure when they would start selling this full fledged.to get this information i had to call the gfone fellos u wont believe me three weeks ( 3 wks of STD calling )imagine how much money i wouldve spent on it and all this to hear that it would take another month get this in chennai.i jus wanna say ..i am sorry for using this a big FU.

this not worth 4700 believe the views its a cheap korean mobile.i just used it 1 day was not worth it gave it back to the shop keeper.if u still dont believe it go for it and waste it….i was utterly disappointed with the kwality of the UI and Gfone no offence to u …i am giving my views on it……make some wise investment andbring out a qualoity phone

i want to tell u more about this mobile which i hav purchased on march 24, posted comments about that phone above. i gave it to service centre on april 13 telling them the three problems with this phone.
1. cheap quality head phones(which were broken by itself very first day).
2. poor sound on call(they said they will replace the reciever.
3. poor battery backup.

after exactly one month(meanwhile i was callin them twice a week they were sayin some times already dispatched to the company and some times not yet) i got the phone back as it was before, nothing repaired or replaced. just gave a better headphone. that’s it. i asked them that.. the sound is same as it was b4. worst service provided. really really waste of money. i will say dont go for it.

Hi All

This phone is absolute crap and i do repent now for buying this handset. This phone has no features working like push mail and many other things. You can’t find a reply option for your incoming message. The most important issue is their after sales service.

I am suffering a lot in searching for its accessories. Power goes off in between a call and no response from their service centers by mail or phone as the nearest service center to me is some 90 Kms.

I am worried for its battery and ear phone voice quality as i am unable to get them. Battery lasts for few hrs and my phone is only 45 days old.

I had purchased this phone in Aug ’10 and had taken it thrice to service center. I had to change it PCB (Since it was a manufacturing defect). The phone used to get hang. PCB got replaced after 3-4 weeks. Even they don’t have the service center and people who had their agency cancelled it because the company doesn’t give them proper service while replacing any part.

My headphones to broke on the 1st day of use.

I also had a problem with the charger and that too I got replaced.

Now with the new PCB I have one new problem. If the mobile is switch off and then you switch on the mobile then I the sms stored in the phone memory gets deleted. For that I had to updated a s/w which can be done only at one place in malad, mumbai and not any of their service center.
