Sony Xperia L, M, C and SP not getting Android KitKat update

Sony has announced that its will not add further Android updates to Xperia L, M, C and SP.  That means that for those of you who own these smartphones, an Android update will not be issued.

The last software version update for the Xperia L was Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean, while the Xperia M (and Xperia M Dual) and SP are running on Android 4.3 Jelly Bean. It is a surprising decision from Sony as all the four handsets have 1 GB RAM and dual processor CPU and hence are capable of running Android KitKat 4.4.

Sony rolled out Android 4.4.4 KitKat updates for its Xperia Z, ZL, ZR and Xperia Tablet Z. The company recently announced Z3 line up of devices viz, Xperia Z3, Xperia Z3 Compact, and Xperia Z3 Tablet Compact at IFA, Berlin.
