Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 Android 4.4 KitKat update starts rolling out


Samsung has started rolling out the Android 4.4.2 (KitKat) update for the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200) starting from Russia, according to Sammobile. The Samsung Galaxy Note 3 got the KitKat update in January,  Galaxy S4 got the update in February and the Galaxy Note 2 got the update earlier this month in India. Internal documents that got leaked recently revealed that the Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Mega 6.3 would get the KitKat update in June, but Samsung has rolled out the update earlier than expected.

The KitKat update adds wireless printing, support for emojis, minor UI changes and under the hood improvements such as white status bar icons, lockscreen Camera shortcut, Samsung Wallet and KNOX, full screen music album art in the lockscreen, improved user interface and performance improvements.

The Android 4.4.2 update for the Galaxy Mega 6.3 (GT-I9200) is now available in Russia via Kies. It is expected to roll out to other countries including India soon. Samsung is expected to roll out Android 4.4 update for other devices including Galaxy Grand 2, Galaxy Mega 5.8 and Galaxy Neo by June, according to the leak. Samsung is also reportedly testing Android 4.4.3 update for the Galaxy S5 and Galaxy S4 LTE-A.
