Lenovo Vibe X and Vibe Z getting Android 4.4 from May-end in India, Vibe X gets a price cut

Lenovo has announced that it would start rolling out Android 4.4 (KitKat) update for both Vibe X and Vibe Z smartphones in the Vibe series starting from the last week of May in India. It launched the Vibe X, the first phone in the Vibe series in India last year for Rs. 25999. It has received a price cut and would be available for Rs. 22,999.

The Vibe X was launched running Android 4.2 (Jelly Bean) and the Vibe Z was launched in February running Android 4.3 (Jelly Bean). The KitKat update for these devices would bring supports better application compatibility,  security enhancements and bug fixes, new UI with better incoming call interface, better autofocus and white balance capabilities in camera, better Lenovo power manager for improved battery utilization (15-20% enhancement in its performance) and more.

The Android KitKat update for the Vibe Z would also bring better 4k video playback, better processing power for enhanced UI transitions and multisensory user experience, better multi-window mode to use multiple apps simultaneously, enhanced notification access, wireless printing, updated theme centre, automatic profile changer and more.

The KitKat update is aimed at boosting the hardware performances further and enhancing multi-tasking capabilities, says Lenovo. The update would start rolling out in phased manner for both these phones starting from the last week of May, 2014.
