Modern Combat 5: Blackout will have unified game progression and four soldier classes

Modern Combat 5: Blackout

Gameloft released the first trailer of the Modern Combat 5, the next First Person Shooter (FPS) game in the Modern Combat franchise back in June last year. Recently the company announced that it would be called Modern Combat 5: Blackout and revealed the plotline of the game. It has revealed more details about the game including the single and multiplayer progression and soldier classes.

The Modern Combat 5 would have a unified progression system. Both the single and multiplayer gameplay will progress together so that you will gain more experience that you earned in your multiplayer mission in the single player mission. It also lets you increase your weapons score, mastering weapons and new weapons.

The game would have four soldier classes. You get skill points after each levels, and you can use these points to unlock skills of a class. Weapons too vary based on each class. Here are the list of classes.

  • Assault – An aggressive fighter that is effective at medium range combat. Equips assault rifles and pistols.
  • Heavy – Resilience is its main advantage. Equips shotguns and RPGs. The Heavy feels at home in close to medium range combat.
  • Recon – Focuses on fast action and exposing enemies. Equips SMGs and pistols. The Recon is efficient in close range combat.
  • Sniper – Focuses on sharpshooting with a stealth approach. Equips sniper rifles (obviously) and pistols. Efficient in long distance combat.

Gameloft already confirmed that it would be available Android, iPhone and iPad and also announced that it would be optimized for Octa-Core MediaTek processor. The game was expected in early 2014, it’s already mid-2014, but we are yet to hear the official release date.
