Google Wallet has updated its mobile apps for Android and iOS with several features. For starters, users can now manage gift cards and redeem them. They can can store their gift cards within the app simply by taking a photo of the barcode or typing the info in. The app already did the same thing for loyalty cards.

Google announced the Project Ara in 2013, a first modular smartphone that would let users to swap the components easily to upgrade the phone. Google Maps for iOS updated with improved search, Gmail invitations and more
Google has updated Google Maps for iPhone and iPad with several features. The version 3.2 now has improved search results as they now come with descriptions. Google Maps for Android and iOS got updated with support to save maps for offline viewing, Uber integration and more back in May. Earlier this year these apps got faster route notification.

Google Play Store will reportedly get a revamped UI along with the recently announced Material Design, according to a report from Android Police. The design language announced at the Google I/O developer conference is expected to gradually land on popular Google platforms.

Google Keyboard updated with spoken emoji, additional languages and more
Google has updated keyboard app with several features. For starters the app gets support for five new languages including Indian English, Basque, Galician, Swiss Italian, and Latin American Spanish. Google Keyboard was released back in June last year, but it is not available globally for all devices yet.

Google has officially launched Android mirroring on the Chromecast. Originally announced at the I/O the feature will let Chromecast owners with Android devices to “cast” mobile apps, photos, videos, and anything else from their device’s screen over to their TV sets.

Google removes multiple Google Play Edition devices from Play Store
Google has taken down multiple Google Play Edition devices from the Play Store. Devices like Sony Xperia Z Ultra, LG G Pad 8.3 and HTC One (M7) were taken down from the device section of the Play Store. These handsets along with Samsung Galaxy S4 were out of inventory for some time before they were officially taken down today.

Flappy Bird clone Flopsy Droid lands on Play Store for Android Wear
Flappy Bird, the popular mobile gaming sensation that took the world by storm was taken down by the creator in February this year. However, in May there were reports that the game is making is way back in August with multiplayer capabilities. In the meantime clones of the game that was fetching $50,000 a day through Ad revenue were adding on the app stores.
