Samsung Exynos 2200 4nm SoC with Xclipse 920 GPU based on AMD RDNA 2 architecture, hardware accelerated ray tracing announced

Samsung just announced its latest Exynos 2200 SoC, successor to last year’s Exynos 2100,after a slight delay. It uses 4nm EUV (extreme ultra violet) lithography processing technology for better power efficiency. This has tri-cluster CPU structure that consists of Arm Cortex-X2 core optimized for peak performance, three Cortex-A710 cores for balanced processing, and four Cortex-A510 cores for efficiency. Samsung Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU reportedly delayed; Galaxy S22 series could use Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 SoC globally

Last month, Samsung officially confirmed that it will unveil its next flagship Exynos SoC with AMD GPU with custom AMD RDNA 2 architecture-based graphics on January 11th, which was yesterday. Samsung Exynos 2200 with AMD GPU might not be exclusive to Galaxy smartphones

Earlier this year, Samsung confirmed that it has been working with AMD and the next-generation mobile GPU from AMD will be used in the next flagship Exynos processor – Exynos 2200. While it is expected to be powering the Galaxy S22 series next year, new reports suggest that the Exynos 2200 might not be exclusive to the company’s Galaxy lineup of smartphones.
