After testing the Snapdragon 855, Qualcomm on the second day of the annual Snapdragon Technology Summit detailed the Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform, the world’s first commercial mobile platform supporting multi-gigabit 5G, built on 7nm process technology. It features multi-gigabit 4G connectivity with the built-in Snapdragon X24 LTE modem, and the Snapdragon X50 can be added to support 5G for both Sub-6 GHz and mmWave frequency bands. Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 unveiled as first commercial 5G Mobile Platform, to power 5G mobile devices starting early 2019

At the third-annual Snapdragon Tech Summit, Qualcomm introduced the first commercial 5G mobile platform, Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 Mobile Platform that will enable commercial 5G networks and mobile devices in Early 2019. Snapdragon 855 mobile platform will be combined with Snapdragon X50 5G modem family and Qualcomm QTM052 mmWave antenna modules with integrated RF transceiver, RF front-end and antenna elements, helping OEMs address the exponential increase in device design complexity that comes with 5G in both sub-6 GHz and mmWave bands.

Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 / SM8150 gets benchmarked, reveals on par performance as Apple A11 Bionic

Qualcomm is gearing to introduce its next-generation flagship Mobile Platform in the coming months, and it confirmed that it will be built on the 7nm process node and will be 5G-capable when paired with the Qualcomm Snapdragon X50 5G modem. Now a new device powered by Qualcomm msmnile chip has passed through Geekbench, which could be the next-gen flagship SoC from Qualcomm.
