Lava has expanded its smartphone portfolio in India with the introduction of the Lava Shark 2 Pro 5G after it was launched as Virat V1 Pro 5G for the online market last month. Positioned in the mid-range segment, the handset features a 120Hz refresh rate display, a large-capacity battery, a 50-megapixel primary camera, and Lava’s proprietary Vayu AI assistant.
Display and Build
The Shark 2 Pro 5G features a 17.13 cm (6.75-inch) HD+ panel with a 120Hz refresh rate aimed at providing fluid scrolling and navigation. It carries an IP64 rating for dust and splash resistance, protecting against minor spills and dust exposure. The device is offered in two colorways: Akash Blue and Nanda Silver.
Hardware and Performance
Under the hood, the device is powered by an octa-core Unisoc T8200 chipset fabricated on a 6nm process, achieving an AnTuTu benchmark score exceeding 500,000. It is paired with 6GB of physical RAM, expandable by up to an additional 6GB via virtual memory.
Storage is set at 128GB of internal capacity, which can be expanded up to 1TB using a microSD card via the hybrid slot. Biometric authentication is handled by a side-mounted fingerprint scanner alongside software-based Face Unlock.

Powering the device is a 6,000mAh battery intended to support extended daily usage. The handset includes support for 18W wired charging via the supplied power adapter.

The Shark 2 Pro 5G runs on Android 16 with a stock, bloatware-free interface. Integrated into the software is Vayu AI, Lava’s native digital companion. Lava has committed to one major Android OS upgrade and two years of security patches.
Additionally, the brand is bundling its “Free Service@Home” after-sales program, which offers on-site customer service support throughout India.
