Samsung has announced two additions to its laundry appliance lineup: a 10 kg Bespoke AI Washer rated for A-70% energy efficiency and a 13 kg model engineered to fit standard European cabinet depths.
Both appliances will be showcased at IFA 2026 in Berlin from September 2 to 6, where Samsung is participating as the official main sponsor of the IFA Creator Hub at Humboldt Carré.
The new models focus on addressing long-standing trade-offs in laundry design by pairing increased drum volumes with reduced power consumption and compact external dimensions.
Efficiency Benchmarks: The 10 kg Model
The 10 kg Bespoke AI Washer represents Samsung’s latest iteration in low-consumption appliance design, following the A-55% model introduced in 2024 and the A-65% variant exhibited in 2025.
The updated unit is engineered to consume up to 70% less energy than the baseline requirement for an EU Class A energy rating. Samsung achieved this efficiency gain alongside a capacity increase from 9 kg to 10 kg through modifications to:
- Motor efficiency and drive mechanics
- Internal thermal management systems
- Cycle-specific algorithmic washing patterns
These adjustments aim to lower power usage across standard wash cycles without diminishing wash performance.
High Capacity in Standard Dimensions: The 13 kg Model
To address spatial constraints common in European residences, Samsung developed a 13 kg capacity washer built within a standard 600 mm (24-inch) depth profile.
The increased internal drum volume is facilitated by Samsung’s SpaceMax™ engineering, which optimizes internal component layout to accommodate bulkier items and bedding without altering standard external dimensions. The exterior utilizes a streamlined “mono-body” chassis with a narrow front bezel, intended to align flush with standard kitchen or utility room cabinetry.
User interaction is centered on a touch display integrated directly into the front fascia alongside the detergent drawer. The interface provides direct manual controls and pairs with Samsung’s SmartThings platform for remote monitoring and cycle personalization.
Automated Ventilation
Both models incorporate an Auto Open Door function. Upon cycle completion, the mechanism unlatches and slightly opens the door automatically, allowing residual heat and moisture to escape. This feature is intended to prevent damp odors and maintain drum hygiene without requiring immediate user intervention after a load finishes.
