Garmin has announced today that it has acquired TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic, two prominent digital training platforms for athletes and coaches. The deal expands Garmin’s reach beyond hardware devices into personalized training and coaching management tools across endurance, strength, and performance disciplines.
Both TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic specialize in digital software designed to connect coaches with athletes of various skill levels to structure, deliver, and analyze tailored training programs.
The addition of the Louisville-based teams brings roughly 120 software and coaching platform specialists into Garmin’s global workforce.
Strategic Impact
By integrating TrainingPeaks and TrainHeroic into its existing ecosystem, Garmin aims to offer more customizable, data-driven coaching capabilities alongside its wearable fitness trackers and GPS devices. The platforms provide structure for both endurance sports (such as running, cycling, and triathlon) and strength/performance programming, covering athletes at every stage of development.
