Following an earlier announcement this year, Age of Empires Mobile: PC Edition is now officially available for players on Steam and the Microsoft Store.
Originally launched in October 2024 on Google Play and the Apple App Store, the mobile strategy title has attracted millions of players globally. The new PC edition brings the game’s core mechanics—building kingdoms, engaging in large-scale battles, and participating in seasonal events—to a desktop environment with a suite of platform-specific optimizations.
PC-Specific Optimizations and Crossplay
The PC Edition has been tailored to leverage desktop hardware and traditional control schemes. Key features include:
- Dedicated Controls: Full mouse support and comprehensive keyboard navigation.
- Upgraded Graphics: Enhanced 4K visual capabilities.

Cross-Progression and Account Linking
Players transitioning from the mobile version to the PC version must link their accounts prior to launching the game on PC for the first time to ensure progress carries over. The linking process requires the following steps on a mobile device:
- Open Age of Empires Mobile.
- Navigate to Settings (the gear icon) and select Account.
- Choose Bind Account and select a preferred sign-in method.
Logging into the PC version using the same credentials will synchronize the player’s account data.
