Following a series of official teasers, London-based technology brand Nothing has confirmed the introduction of a new product category known as the “B Series.” The announcement, marked by the slogan “It’s (b)eginning,” signals an expansion of the company’s smartphone portfolio into a new market segment.
A dedicated microsite for the upcoming device has gone live on Flipkart, confirming its availability in the Indian market.
The New Naming Structure
In a statement addressing the announcement, Nothing’s Co-Founder Akis Evangelidis clarified how the new nomenclature fits into the brand’s expanding lineup. According to Evangelidis, the (b) moniker is a structured continuation of the company’s naming hierarchy:
- Numbers: Represent device generations.
- Letters: Indicate distinct product segments.
Evangelidis noted that while the A Series remains the brand’s most premium mid-range offering below its unlettered flagship tier, the B Series is designed to expand the portfolio while maintaining a clear tier structure without overusing traditional suffixes.
Official promotional materials and brief teaser animations released by Nothing India—including a subsequent clip captioned “(b)usted”—give an early look at what is highly speculated to be the Nothing Phone (4b).
The strategy follows recent confirmation from Nothing that it will not launch a successor to the CMF Phone line this year due to supply chain pricing constraints. Moving entry-level projects under the core Nothing banner allows the company to retain its distinct visual identity, including transparent aesthetics, while optimizing production costs.
While Nothing has yet to confirm the exact launch date or detailed internal specifications, the appearance of the active Flipkart placeholder page suggests an official unveiling is imminent.
