Google I/O 2026 schedule and core themes announced


Google has released the official schedule for its upcoming I/O developer conference, set to take place on May 19 and 20. Broadcasting live from Mountain View, the event will focus on updates across the company’s AI, Android, Chrome, and Cloud platforms. A primary theme of this year’s conference is the introduction of new tools and features designed to facilitate agentic coding.

The conference will commence on May 19, featuring two main presentations:

  • Google Keynote: 10:00 AM PT
  • Developer Keynote: 1:30 PM PT

Over the course of the two-day live event, viewers can expect a series of announcements, live demonstrations, and professional development sessions.

The published schedule outlines several key areas of focus regarding the future of software development:

  • The Agentic Era of Development: Sessions will cover the evolution of developer tools, specifically regarding the transition from rapid ideation to the orchestration of autonomous workflows.
