TECNO Mobile has launched the TECNO POP X, the company’s latest budget 4G smartphone in India in the POP series. Positioned as an accessible device with several notable features typically found in higher price brackets, the new handset emphasizes durability, display smoothness, and unique connectivity options.
Display and Design
The TECNO POP X features a modern design, launching in two distinct colorways: a textured olive green and a pearlescent white with wave-like light reflections. The front of the device sports a display with a 120Hz refresh rate, aimed at providing smoother scrolling and an enhanced gaming experience.
For durability, the smartphone comes with an IP64 rating, offering protection against dust, spills, and splashes. Furthermore, TECNO states that the device has undergone rigorous durability testing, surviving over 25,000 drop tests.
Unique Connectivity and AI Features
One of the standout features of the POP X is its “No Network Communication” capability. This feature allows users to stay connected via offline calls and messages within a range of up to 1.5 kilometers, functioning without a traditional cellular network or Wi-Fi connection.
Additionally, the smartphone integrates “ELLA AI,” an artificial intelligence assistant designed to operate in the user’s native language, enhancing accessibility for regional users.
Performance, Camera, and Battery Life
Under the hood, TECNO promises longevity with a “4 Years TDV Lasting Fluency” certification, indicating optimized hardware and software integration designed to deliver lag-free performance for up to four years.
For photography, the device sports a rear camera and includes an infrared sensor inside the camera deco. It is capable of capturing clear, blur-free shots of fast-moving subjects, said the company. Powering the device is a large 5000mAh battery. The company has confirmed that a charger will be included in the retail box.
