Elista opens Kadapa plant with Rs. 250 crore investment to boost Make in India production

Elista, part of Dubai-based TeknoDome Group, has inaugurated and commenced operations at a 1.32 lakh sq. ft. manufacturing plant in Kadapa, Andhra Pradesh.

The project involves a phased investment of Rs. 250 crore and is designed to shift production from imported components to fully in-house, precision electronics manufacturing.

Initial Export and Production Capacity

The Kadapa plant has already shipped 650 premium Smart TVs, ranging from 43″ to 85″, worth Rs. 2.55 crore (USD 300,000) to Dubai under the India–Dubai Free Trade Agreement.

The plant employs over 200 skilled professionals, with plans to expand the workforce as production ramps up; Phase 1 targets an annual output of 1 million Smart TVs and 1 million LED monitors, while Phase 2 will add washing machines, dishwashers, and smart accessories to the production line.

Strategic Location and Technological Features

Positioned close to Chennai and Visakhapatnam ports, the Kadapa facility offers a logistical advantage, cutting shipping time to Dubai to five days and reducing transport costs relative to traditional OEM hubs.

The plant is equipped with automated assembly lines, robotic systems, intelligent quality control, and environmentally conscious measures including rainwater harvesting, solar integration, and ESD-safe zones.

Localized Smart TV Innovation

Elista will offer Smart TVs with interfaces that recommend apps and content based on regional preferences. This feature leverages advanced technology to provide personalized viewing experiences while highlighting India’s capability in global electronics manufacturing.

Market Presence and Growth Plans

Since its establishment in 2020, Elista has expanded its presence in India to more than 20,000 retail outlets, 650 distributors, and 600 service centers. Its products are available in more than 18 international markets, including the UAE, Africa, CIS, and Asia.

The Kadapa facility positions Elista to achieve Rs. 1,000 crore in domestic revenue within five years and Rs. 5,000 crore globally by 2028, with plans underway to establish additional state-of-the-art plants across India to boost manufacturing capacity, accelerate product launches, and expand exports.

Speaking at the launch, Saket Gaurav, Chairman & Managing Director, Elista, said:

This is more than just a manufacturing launch — it marks a defining chapter in Elista’s journey. In four years, we’ve progressed from being a challenger brand to creating products that stand shoulder-to-shoulder with the best in the world — and now, we are building them here in India. The Kadapa facility is the embodiment of our Make in India ambition, proving that India can deliver premium electronics faster, better, and more cost-effectively to global markets. This milestone strengthens our manufacturing capabilities, boosts employment, improves cost efficiency, and ensures our products are more attuned to the evolving needs of Indian consumers. It positions Elista as not just a consumption-led brand, but as a manufacturing name to watch on the global stage.
