After rumours, Samsung has officially introduced the Galaxy A17 5G, the company’s latest mid-range A series phone, in Europe, as the successor to last year’s A16 5G. It still has a 6.7-inch FHD+ 90Hz Super AMOLED display with a notch and retains the Exynos 1330 SoC, at least for the European market.
It retains the 50MP main + 5MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro camera and a 13MP front camera. The phone runs Android 15 with One UI 7 on top, and will get 6 OS updates and 6 years of security updates.
The phone packs a 5000mAh battery with 25W charging support, and the charger is sold separately. The phone has become slightly thinner and lighter compared to the A16 5G, and the camera design is new, which are the major changes.

Pricing and availability
Samsung Galaxy A17 5G comes in Black, Blue and Grey colours and is priced at 239 Euros (USD 277 / Rs. 24,330 approx.) for the 4GB + 128GB model. It will also come in 6GB RAM and 8GB RAM model in some markets.
The phone is already available for pre-order in some countries in Europe with shipping starting from next week, and is expected to launch in more markets, including India, soon.
